Affinity Health Services Inc. is a leading sponsor and several senior leaders will address the PADONA (Pennsylvania Association of Directors of Nursing Administration) Leadership Course, which runs from September 27-30. This is a virtual course again this year because of the increasing spread of the Omicron Variant throughout the state.
The topics selected for the Course are relevant to the role of the nurse leaders in long-term care. These are the topics that will assist nurse leaders to know what to expect from vendors, how to get the most from their vendor contracts to assist them and make their workload more efficient, how to manage the things that management expects of them and what they can expect of and include on position descriptions for other nurse leaders in their long-term care facilities.
On Thursday, from 8-10 AM, the topic of Prevention and Management of Pressure Ulcers and the Role of the Wound Care Nurse in Long Term Care will be addressed by Angela Huffman, RN, WCC, and Vice President Clinical Services at Affinity Health Services.
Also on Thursday, from 1-2:30 PM, Nursing Department Budget in Long Term Care will be addressed by Candace McMullen, RN, NHA, MHA, CLNC, CNDLTC. She is Affinity’s Vice President Business Development and the PADONA Board Chair.
And, from 3-4:30 PM, McMullen will talk about Nursing P&L Statement Overview
On Friday, from 8-9:30 AM, McMullen will discuss Most Frequently Cited Deficiencies Review, and, from 10-11:30 AM, McMullen will delve into Legal Aspects in Long Term Care.
From 12:30-2 PM, Quality Measures and the Five Star Quality Rating System, will be the topic addressed by Tammy Coleman, RN, CNDLTC, RAC-CTA, abd Vice President Clinical Reimbursement at Affinity.
